Lessons Riding Lessons - Cater Stables offers an Academy Program as an intro to Saddle Seat riding. Whether you have visions of a World's Championship title or just want to enjoy riding and improving your skills, we will customize a program for you. Our philosophy is based oncatering to each rider's needs. In some weeks, our goals may center on improving specific skills, necessitating private lessons. At other times, the focus may be to work on strategy and riding in a group, in which case we will arrange a group lesson with riders with similar skills and goals, allowing us to address those techniques together. We believe in providing the same amount of attention to detail and addressing the goals of each rider, regardless of the number of riders in the ring. For this reason, lesson rates are the same for private or group lessons. Lesson Basics - Lessons are approximately 30 minutes in length. Horses are prepared for the rider and taken care of after the lesson. We ask only that students clean their saddle after their lesson. If they would like to improve their knowledge and skills around the horse in the stall, they are welcome to arrive early and stay late to learn to groom and tack and untack their horse, but it is not required. Lesson Options, Fees & Times - We offer two lesson options. Riders may take a single lesson and ride one horse for $50. for riders who would like more saddle time, they may have two lessons in a row on two differen horses (approximately 45 minutes of riding) for a total of $75. Lesson times are available Monday through Saturday. Please contact us to schedule your lesson time. Riding Camps - Days include one formal riding lesson, games on horseback, classroom activities (focused on improving general knowledge of horses and horsemanship), improvement of skills on the ground (grooming, tacking up, equine behavior & care) and other fun activities.
