Training
Training horses is the main focus of Cater Stables. Walking down the aisles and looking into the arena, it is possible to see weanlings being trained to lead, 3-year-olds learning to carry a rider for the first time, and seasoned veterans being readied for another winning season. Kristen and David Cater share similar training philosophies, providing their customers and horses a consistency that maximizes the potential and abilities of both horse and rider.

To David and Kirsten, teamwork is a key word. They always work as a team, determining the best plan for a horse and/or rider's career, executing that plan on a daily basis to ensure that both are in top condition for the show season. They also work as a team to propare each rider and his or her family by understanding and agreeing to the appropriate goals and plans.

Kristen and David believe that for horses and riders to reach their full potential, they must enjoy themselves. It is also important to the Caters that all customers practie sportsmanship. The fun, friendly, welcoming environment around the barn allows everyone to enjoy the horses, facilitating a team mentality that makes everyone feel like they are part of a family. The result is an atmosphere that makes riding and showing a more enjoyable, whether at home or at a show.
